Front runner of tUnE-yArDs, Merrill Garbus, has a voice in a category all it's own; folks, it's huge. She loops it's raspy power to create a sound unique to tUnE-yArDs. Tracks from their latest album "w h o k i l l " out last April exemplify these voice and beat loops in repeating patterns as Merrill sings over with a demanding and soulful flavor. I came across them not too long ago and I'm hooked, namely to the two tracks "Bizness" and "Gangsta". They're seriously rad, and I don't even use that word. Check out the video for "Bizness" below
